A Panto Land update from Imagine Theatre’s Sarah Boden
Panto land is officially open! All 21 of Imagine’s pantos are now open with almost 1,000 performances happening across just over 6 weeks.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us to make this monumental feat happen. As you’ll see from this month’s panto press night focus, there’s lots of magic and sparkle that comes with each panto season, but for many of us it’s a long, hard slog.
Very long hours, lots of rehearsal and show reports, late nights, thousands of payments, staffing rotas, hours cleaning auditoriums, merchandise and bars to stock, miles travelled and much more. Behind the magic are a multitude of people working day and night to make panto season special for everyone who attends. THANK YOU.
It’s easy to forget the unsung heroes – the theatre FOH teams and cleaners, box office teams, backstage teams, finance teams, marketing teams, the Imagine head office team, theatre management, cast, creatives, parents of the children appearing, our suppliers and so so many more – I’m sorry if we’ve forgotten anyone.
We see you, we thank you and we are so grateful for all you are doing. It takes an army to make theatre happen, particularly at panto time, all working incredibly hard to put an enormous smile on the faces of hundreds of thousands of people and help them create magical, wonderful and often very special memories.
