Eastbourne Backs Airbourne
In early May, Rosemary spoke at Eastbourne Backs Airbourne – a business networking event organised by Lewes and Eastbourne Council designed to drum up support and sponsorship for the Eastbourne International Airshow. The show, which takes place every August brings around 500,000 visitors to the seaside town and is the UK’s largest free airshow; and the world’s biggest seafront airshow.
Rosemary highlighted the importance of the visitor economy and visitor footfall to the ongoing success of Eastbourne Theatres and the many benefits that major events bring to the town; as well as setting out Trafalgar’s vision for the operation of the Congress Theatre, Devonshire Park and Winter Garden.
Congratulations Houri!

Congratulations to Theatre Royal Sydney’s General Manager, Houri Tapiki, who has been recognised for her outstanding achievements, by being announced as a Finalist for the upcoming 2025 Venue Industry Awards in June!
The Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of professionals who have created memorable moments and events that shape the culture and history of our nation.
With a passion and commitment to the industry, Houri has been nominated in the Venue Professional of the Year category. Good luck, Houri!
Marathon Man!

We’ve been following his progress all year, and now we’re delighted to report that G Live’s Connor Harper has completed the London Marathon!
Not only did he complete this incredible challenge, but he also hit his fundraising goal in support of an amazing cause — Treloar School and College, whose mission is to “create a world where physically disabled young people take control of their lives and achieve their aspirations.”
Treloar recently performed at the venue, and the G Live team couldn’t be prouder to support their work or prouder of Connor for this outstanding achievement. Now it’s time for a well-deserved rest!
Wonder Woman!

On 18 May, Kay Hadley (VME Orchard West, Dartford) took part in a 10k Spartan Race. The hilly course included 25 obstacles, each tougher than the last. Including rope climbs, commando crawling under barbed wire, carrying logs, boulders and sandbags up steep hills, climbing walls and a final leap over fire.

Kay said: “There was one moment I nearly gave up trying to get over an inverted wall with my little legs, but my team cheered me on from below and gave me the encouragement to find strength. I completed obstacles I couldn’t tackle last year, so I feel proud of myself and my team. It was tough, but fun and gave me a great sense of achievement afterwards.”

They think it’s all over…

The Chiswick Cinema had the pleasure of hosting the Gravity Media EMG UK team filming for the The Football Association Cup Finals recently. The cinema also hosted its first Singers Inc. Records listening party and a social, with exclusive invitations for Platinum Members. Three very different, but engaging and exciting events.
Chris Parker, Programme and Marketing Manager, said: “Great work from the Chiswick team as always and thanks to the brilliant clients for the support. Surely they don’t think its all over…”

EU Deal for Culture event

Rosemary recently spoke at the EU Deal for Culture event hosted by ATG Entertainment at The KitKat Club in advance of the UK/European Summit which was held in London on 19 May and organised by Best for Britain and the UK Trade & Business Commission, of which Rosemary is a commissioner. The objective was to try and break down current barriers to European Touring.

Crewe Lyceum Apprenticeship Success Story

Congratulations to Crewe Lyceum’s Josh Taylor-Walters who has completed a Level 4 Hospitality Management Apprenticeship and passed with Distinction!
“My apprenticeship has helped me in my personal development because I have gained the knowledge and skills necessary to help me in both progressing within my career and also my personal skills.”
Josh Taylor-Walters, Apprentice Hospitality Manager
“Josh has been absolutely valuable to our Front of House operation over the last few years. He has exceeded in balancing and organising the requirements of the apprenticeship alongside his day-to-day venue responsibilities. This is highlighted in the fantastic news that Josh has achieved a distinction in his final project. We are also excited to announce that we are continuing to support Josh with a Level 5 Operation Manager apprenticeship and are enjoying working with the People Team on finalising the details. We look forward to continuing to work with Josh and cementing him as an integral part of the Front of House team.”
Adam Morgan, General Manager
“A big well done to Josh for completing his apprenticeship with the team at Crewe Lyceum. Josh is already looking at the next steps and we’re happy to support his journey with the Level 5 Operations Management apprenticeship. As a Levy paying organisation, it’s great to offer our people the chance to learn on the job and gain qualifications at the same time.”
