HR ROUND UP: LATEST TE STAFF CHANGES

Here’s a round up of the staff updates currently happening across the Group.

As previously communicated, Julian Russell, CEO of HQ Theatres resigned from the business at the end of last month. We thank Julian for his contribution, particularly in the challenging years of 2020 and 2021, where he ensured the wellbeing of people and the security of buildings during a prolonged closure, and successfully remobilised our venues. We are pleased to say that he will continue to support for a numbers of days until the end of the year as a consultant, to support with the expansion and refurbishment of Southend Theatres.

As shared on our Away Day, our various UK venues will be combined to form Trafalgar Theatres. This is a very exciting time for us, as we collaborate to build a stronger venue business for the future.

This has meant some structure changes are required and we are pleased to announce that Chris McGuigan has been appointed Group Commercial Director, reporting to Helen Enright. Chris will lead our efforts to develop sales and people strategies to support growth, increase revenue and to deliver an exceptional customer experience to venue guests and visiting producers. This includes within our F&B and Hospitality offer, alongside Mark Hollington, who together will support our Theatre Directors in the achievement of strategic business goals and budget objectives.

Alvin Hargreaves has expanded his role and becomes Group Operations Director, reporting to Andrew Hill and will lead on and support the delivery of our technical and operational delivery, current and new projects, and ensure our Group risk, compliance and sustainability agendas are solidified and progressed. Alvin will also oversee our venue Creative Learning strategy and goals. Alvin’s team of Emily O’Delland Chichi Okoronkwo will be joined in a few months by Jason Culverwell, who will provide support to our Production companies, but also advise on our technical and operational capability.

Peter Brayshaw, currently CFO & CEO for Stagecoach,  will also be joining the Trafalgar Theatres team as Finance Director Venues and Education. Due to the expansion of the Group’s activities, it is necessary to adapt the finance structure to build strong processes and procedures moving forward. He will continue to oversee the Stagecoach finance function. Peter brings a breadth of experience including previously working with Really Useful Group.

Kim Chalkley will continue to be part of the Trafalgar Theatres finance team and will report into Peter.

We are pleased to announce that we have engaged Vicky Gray as Venue HR Business Partner. Vicky will be customer facing, supporting venues with generalist HR issues and initiatives, including employee relations, performance management, talent growth, planning and retention as well as supporting other centralised L&D opportunities. Hollie Williams has also joined as HR Administrator, to be the first point of contact in HR.

In the Production department, Alice Lloyd-Davies has now become a new full time Production Assistant working across all our shows, predominantly on Rocky Horror and Death Drop to start with. Alice started at TE as an intern and we are really pleased that she has become a permanent member of the team.

Sophie Howard has also joined The Strand team as Office Assistant. She will be on the [email protected] email address and is working alongside Amelia and Geraldine.
