ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER RETURNS TO THEATRE ROYAL SYDNEY
Theatre Royal Sydney’s General Manager, Houri Tapiki, updates us with the latest news from the team Down Under.
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber paid a visit to Theatre Royal Sydney on 24 March (see main picture), a place he is no stranger to. The theatre was the home to Cats from 1985 for two years and Phantom of the Opera from 1993 for three years. It was great to have Lloyd Webber come and see the beautiful refurbishment and have him join our CEO, Torben Brookman, on stage for a photo opportunity.
Tracy Creasey (our Finance Manager) and I also travelled all the way from Australia to attend the TE Away Day last month. We spent time with our UK colleagues, visited various Trafalgar Entertainment Venues and enjoyed seeing some shows in the West End. It was great for us to meet the wider Trafalgar family and put faces to names of colleagues we have been liaising with for months. Below is a picture of us at Trafalgar Theatre for Jersey Boys.
Finally, we are very pleased to have Ullrich Le Fort join us as Technical and Building Services Manager. Most recently, Ullrich was the Technical Manager for the Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs and has previously been Technical Manager at the Hayes Theatre in Sydney and various Venues in New Zealand and Germany.
