HOPES FOR 2022

We ask colleagues from across the Group what their Hopes or New Year’s Resolutions are for 2022!

KATE POWELL – PRODUCTION CO-ORDINATOR
JONATHAN CHURCH THEATRE PRODUCTIONS
My New Year’s Resolution for 2022 is to raise money for charity by taking part in the one-mile event for Serpentine Swim (it’s just my excuse of getting to don a super cool wetsuit, goggles and swim cap).

LUCY HARRINGTON – BOX OFFICE & STAGE DOOR MANAGER
CHURCHILL THEATRE BROMLEY
I resolve to spread the joy about theatres being open again to everyone. To make an extra effort to try and encourage my non-theatre friends that it would be an experience for them to start coming to the theatre.

NEŽA KOVAČIČ – PROJECTS ASSISTANT
TRAFALGAR RELEASING
My commandments for 2022:
1. No bad Roommates
2. No more excuses when my friend asks to do yoga
3. No bad luck (I have decided to not allow any of my stuff to be stolen in 2022)
4. Be better (just generally better at everything)
5. Do more (of everything)!

CHARLOTTE YOUNG – CREATIVE LEARNING OFFICER
BECK THEATRE HAYES
In 2022, I’m most looking forward to our Summer Youth Project production of High School Musical. This two-week masterclass gives our local young people the chance to express their creativity through dance, design, acting and singing, which is so crucial after the previous 2 years. This is also the first show I’ve produced on this scale, so I can’t wait to see how the Beck team respond to this incredibly rewarding challenge.

NICKY SWEETLAND – MARKETING MANAGER
LONDON THEATRE DIRECT
I was incredibly excited to join the marketing team at LTD in June 2021 and it has been a real roller coaster ride ever since. I’m really looking forward to theatre returning even stronger in 2022, with some classics coming back to town and more opportunities than ever for us to make a mark on the digital and social media side of theatre marketing.

ZACHARY BUSH – FOH MANAGER
THEATRE ROYAL SYDNEY
I hope for a year we want to remember, rather than one we want to forget; a time when our audiences, creatives and staff feel safe together once more, having been forlornly forced apart; a year where our theatres bring back light, having been made dark. I hope my hope is not just a hope, and I wish all of Trafalgar a safe and wonderful 2022. We are so proud at Theatre Royal Sydney to have opened our doors last year, and to have joined the TE family!

CONNOR HARPER – SENIOR VENUE MANAGER
G LIVE GUILDFORD
In 2022 Connor hopes to regain and offer the career progression which the pandemic took from many people, including himself. He hopes that G Live will flourish and overtake the high benchmark it set for itself in 2020. He also hopes to stop going on about the pandemic and saying yes to marketing’s requests for pithy quotes!

LAUREN GODDARD – MARKETING MANAGER
STAGECOACH
The past 2 years have seen everyone have to change and adapt to new situations. However, I, like many others have neglected to recognise just what an achievement this is. So, this year I’m aiming to create a weekly journal. Somewhere where I can write down a summary of my week and simply reflect. I hope that this will force me to really evaluate what challenges I’ve faced and how I’ve reacted to them, as well as identify successes both at work and at home.
