Happy New Year and welcome to the first Ensemble of 2022. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break with your families and loved ones. And a big thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly over the festive season under challenging circumstances to say the least.

Emerging from a time like no other and the longest closure of theatres and cinemas around the world, counterintuitively 2020 and 2021 have proved pivotal years for TE seeing rapid expansion, acquisition of major assets all cementing building blocks for future growth.

Moving forward, TE is the live entertainment business to watch in 2022 with more international growth planned, new venues to be launched, productions to open, in-house ticketing to be rolled out and more children and young people than ever to start on a life-long journey of enjoyment and learning in live theatre.

As 2022 begins, the signs are certainly more hopeful and optimistic for a much better year with less restrictions and more freedoms. And with that in mind, we asked staff from across TE to reveal their Hopes for 2022. You can read what they had to say in this edition.

We also welcome new faces at Trafalgar Releasing, learn about the relaunched Mystery Guest programme at HQ Theatres and there’s an update from TE’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Group.

Finally, huge congratulations to our producers, Dan Brodie and Matt Parritt who were recognised in The Stage 25 – a new “ones to watch” list from the industry publication – celebrating the future theatre talent of tomorrow. We’re all really proud of you.
