If you’re experiencing problems at work or struggling with issues at home, please don’t suffer in silence. Help is always at hand and there are several organisations offering confidential support when you need it most.

The Theatre Helpline is a free telephone and email service that provides help and advice to theatre professionals.

Trained staff are available to talk to anyone working in the theatre industry to support you with a wide range of topics that might be affecting your personal or professional life such as bullying or harassment, health issues including mental health, injury and mobility problems, career issues including professional development and training, retirement and care in later life and debt and financial issues.

For all non-theatre staff, the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offers telephone counselling, health advice covering a wide range of medical and wellbeing issues, personal legal and financial information with an online portal system loaded with further information and templates for your use.

Both services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and all calls and communications are 100% confidential. 

Carol Newton, Group HR Manager, said, “We want staff to know that these hotlines are available for them to access whether it’s work related or personal circumstances and cover a wide range of support. We care about our workforce and the wellbeing of all our staff is important to us.”

In addition, Expolink is a whistleblowing hotline available for any employees wishing to disclose information in confidence about a situation at work.

Carol added, “We’re striving to create a safe work environment and want to encourage openness amongst staff. If you see or suspect wrongdoing at work then speak up. Speak to your Line Manager in the first instance or a Director is always available to share any concerns with. However, we understand that this isn’t always possible so please use the whistleblowing hotline.”
