EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: MERON ROBERTS
Where do you work and what do you do?
I’m the Ticketing Operations Manager for Trafalgar Tickets. We’re a team of 9 and the majority of our work is with the venues; setting up their events, products, pre-show dining, offers, sales reports, agency sales, TRG pricing, building webpages for events etc. as well as dealing with queries from promoters, Campaigns, venues and the Contact Centre. But we deal with all departments across the venues and Trafalgar Tickets. This is our busiest time of year when we’re dealing with over 300+ Black Friday offers across 15 venues, and building next year’s pantos.
Describe yourself in 3 words!
Loyal, persistent and busy!
Favourite stage production and why?
West Side Story. It was the first musical I saw on stage on a school trip to Manchester Opera House in 1986 and it was an incredible experience. The score is iconic.
Favourite album?
Quite typical for a Gen X woman but it’s Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morrisette. One of the albums that was the soundtrack to my Uni years, and I was lucky enough to see the musical on Broadway in 2019.
Best ever gig and why?
Hyde Park July 2014 Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Faith No More and Motorhead. It was a memorable day with a big group of friends, some of whom are no longer with us. But lots of sunshine, cider, fantastic music and happy memories.
Top 3 films of all time?
The Lost Boys – an 80s classic
The Ladykillers (1955) – an Ealing classic
Paddington 2 – a modern classic & Hugh Grant’s finest role!

What’s your go to TV binge boxset?
I’m currently rewatching Slow Horses as the new series is out. The writing is outstanding and the cast are superb.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
New Zealand. I explored both islands 20 years ago and it was the holiday of a lifetime, and I’d love to go back. I also love Mauritius, Singapore, Hawaii, Corfu and Anglesey. Basically, I’m always on an island somewhere!
Your Greatest sporting achievement?
Anyone who knows me will tell you I am in no way sporty! But I started working out with a personal trainer a couple of years ago and my current PB in the deadlift is 80kg which is probably my only sporting achievement.
Who is your hero and why?
My Dad, as I have inherited his work ethic and sense of humour. He was self-employed and used to work 364 days a year when I was younger. He introduced me to Monty Python and Mel Brooks movies and is always on hand with sensible advice and dad jokes.
What is your cooking masterpiece?
I love cooking and baking. I have a decent sized garden and love using the produce in my baking. It also means I make a lot of jams, chutneys and jellies. Favourite bakes in my previous office were my G&T cupcakes with gin and lime buttercream which came second in the office Bake Off. I always used to get requests for G&T lemon drizzle cake for birthdays. Spot the theme!
