EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: LUKE REID

Where do you work and what do you do?
I am the Theatre Administrator at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley! I’ve been here for five months now and I’m absolutely loving it and everyone here.

Describe yourself in 3 words!
Totally not dramatic…

Favourite stage production and why?
Cabaret. There is no musical or show more necessary today than this one and if you haven’t seen the current revival it is a must see. Completely holds a mirror up to its audience and begs them to question how easily we can become complicit in the suffering of others. A dream show to be involved in also!

Top 3 favourite songs?

Lord, Let That Tesla Crash by CMAT, Rainbow Connection, the Riff Off from Pitch Perfect.

Top 3 films of all time?
The Muppets (2011), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Muppets Most Wanted. I minored in film in university so these are actually verified (by me) as the greatest films factually.

What’s your cooking masterpiece?
Watching my partner cook (just kidding). My stir fries are always a hit!

Your Greatest sporting achievement?
Walking up the 20,000 steps at the Churchill to sit at my desk. Exhausting… (I take the lift).

Who is your hero and why?
Miss Piggy. I don’t think I need to explain this.

Holiday plans for 2026?
My partner and I just spent a lovely weekend in Brighton for Valentine’s (how exotic). He has also just won a £50 Love Holiday voucher so I can only imagine the lavish destinations we will be going with that! I’m looking forward to visiting my friend who’s currently studying for her Masters in Amsterdam, and I’ll be heading over mid-May. I’m DYING to go to Mexico this year and am convinced it will be happening but haven’t booked anything yet… but let’s just pretend it’s all planned and I WILL be going (manifesting). I’m sure I’ll book many spontaneous trips periodically throughout the year. It’s needed.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I’m really looking forward to developing my own work. I’ll be putting on a play I’ve been writing at the end of the year and am very excited (and scared!) about producing my own work for the first time! She’s a work in progress but it’s going to be a really fun experience and can’t wait to embark on this journey 🙂
