EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: TRACY BERENS
Welcome to our monthly who’s who of Trafalgar Entertainment. This month we say hello to Tracy Berens!
Which room do you currently work in at home and what do you do?
I have set my office up in the bedroom to escape from the kids but often have to change rooms for a better internet signal… I am the Commercial Finance Manager for Trafalgar Releasing which means I support the acquisitions team to ensure new projects are commercially viable, liaising with all departments to ensure budgets are being managed and communicating financials to the clients including pre-sales tracking, re-forecasts and producer statements. I also look to improve our processes with Commercial Analysis and reviewing of systems. I assist the Finance team with producing monthly management accounts etc. and I look after HR. My role is full of variety and I’m supported by a great team.
Describe yourself in 3 words!
Adaptable, Reliable, Optimistic
Favourite stage production and why?
There are so many… The one that stands out would be Les Misérables, I love a musical and this show is an emotional rollercoaster
Favourite album?
That’s a hard question as I have such a varied taste in music. One of my all-time favourites would be ‘The Very Best of Aretha Franklin’
Best ever gig?
Stevie Wonder – Hard Rock Calling 2010 – Hyde Park. Great lineup also included Jamiroquai, James Morrison and Corinne Bailey Rae. The sun was shining and it was my first festival with my then fiancé.
Top 3 films of all time?
1. The Sound Of Music
2. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
3. Indiana Jones – 1,2&3
Top tip for surviving lockdown?
My husband and I are juggling working with looking after 2 young children so setting a routine was essential. We are lucky to live near Epping Forest, parks and lakes so have been going out for lovely nature walks in the surprisingly good weather.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Chiang Mai Thailand- This place has it all, vibrant city, amazing temples, nearby mountainous jungle, lovely people and fantastic food!
Your Greatest sporting achievement?
Sport is not one of my strong points, I was once told by my P.E. teacher that I had as much chance of playing badminton for England as Mr Bean. I guess getting through my Boot Camp Zoom sessions through lockdown has been a pretty big achievement.
What’s your cooking masterpiece?
I love to bake so it would have to be my chocolate roulade with raspberries.
Biggest regret in life?
Currently not upgrading my internet…I also wish I had done yoga as a child as I’m completely inflexible, although I’m surprisingly good at doing the limbo.
Who is your hero and why?
My nan, she was part of the Windrush generation travelling from Jamaica to England to provide a better life for her family. Any woman who can bring up 7 children while working as a nurse is incredible and she showed me just how strong a person can be.
