CHRISTMAS EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: DUNCAN BENNETTS

Welcome to our monthly who’s who of Trafalgar Entertainment. This month we say Happy Christmas to Duncan Bennetts!

Where do you work and what do you do?
Stagecoach Performing Arts (Woking) as Creative Studio Manager for the Marketing team.

Describe yourself in 3 words!
Creative, pensive, loyal.

Earliest Christmas memory?
The sheer joy of finding a full stocking at the end of my bed on Christmas morning.

Favourite Christmas song?
It’s an obvious one – Fairytale of New York – beautiful, melancholic, hopeful and bleak all in one. But ask me on another day and it could equally be Wombling Merry Christmas. Pure unadulterated innocence and joy!

Top 3 Christmas films?
A difficult one as I’m not a huge Christmas-film fan, but here goes:
Nativity: For the same reason as Wombling Merry Christmas, plus it’s a real tear-jerker.
Trading Places: Dan Aykroyd makes a great drunk Santa.
Die Hard: It’s a bit of a cliché, but still a great Christmas film. Alan Rickman is the ultimate baddie!

Top 3 Christmas dinner party guests (alive or dead) and why?
My Dad who died six years ago. It would be great to catch up.
Santa (of course), although he may not be great company after a tiring Christmas Eve.
Richard Hawley. We could talk endlessly about guitars and music then pick up a couple of acoustics and ‘entertain’ the other guests in front of an open fire. Yes, I’d like that. A little more relaxing than this Christmas is likely to be.

Best Christmas present ever?
Our late dog, Ella. Ten wonderful years.

How will you be spending your Christmas Day?
Surrounded by women. My wife, our two daughters, my mum and my mother-in-law. Should be fun!

If you could be one pantomime character who would you be and why!?
The Dame. A great excuse to dress up, be outrageous, tell lots of smutty dad jokes and get away with it. The Dame is the one reason everyone should go to the pantomime – Oh, yes it is!

Any New Year’s resolutions?
Nothing unrealistic. Just to be a bit better at everything than this year.
