BLOOD DRIVE AT THE WYCOMBE SWAN

This week, the Wycombe Swan team welcomed NHS staff and other emergency services personnel as the venues hosted the NHS Blood & Transplant Services at the Old Town Hall.

Having previously been used as a venue for the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, Wycombe staff thought it was fitting to continue supporting the NHS for the important services they carry out in the community.

The venue was a perfect fit for them and the Wycombe team were able to accommodate all their requirements. The venue will now look forward to hosting the donor centre once a month going forward.

Theatre administrator, Andy Grange, said: “Being a regular donor myself, it was a great to be able to complete my 52nd donation at the office! The carer conducting my donation was delighted to be back at the Wycombe Swan after previously visiting as an audience member for our regular comedy event Hellfire Comedy in the town hall!”

On the same day, the venue also hosted another regular event held by the emergency services – Safe Drive, Stay Alive – produced by a Road Safety Partnership consisting of Thames Valley and Hampshire Police, local councils and emergency services.

This educational event has become a popular fixture for local schools and colleges, giving the opportunity for 2,000 young people to learn the importance of safe driving and the impacts of dangerous road behaviour.
