TEAM OF THE MONTH: BECK THEATRE TECH
Meet our brand new Team of the Month!
Where do you work and what do you do?
We are the Beck Theatre Technical Department, and we provide production and technical support, design and operation for all our incoming and in house produced shows.
What makes your Team work so well?
We are such a family and are all here to have a good time! Also, we have some of the best technicians around so that really helps!
Favourite stage production of all time and why?
Nick: Rock of Ages in the West End. Luckily, we got to have the tour at The Beck!
Nigel: Rock of Ages – as it was the first week run that came into the Beck for over a decade. It fitted but JUST!
Morris: Back to the Future, because it’s the fine blend of old stories and new technical technique.
Sam (casual): Back to the Future, as it’s technically incredible!
Millie (Panto ASM): Bat out of Hell – A great production.
Fiona: Crazy for You, the first musical I ever saw.
Favourite album?
Nick: The Piano Man at Christmas by Jamie Cullum
Morris: A Head Full of Dreams by Coldplay
Sam (casual): Freedom – Bru-c
Millie (Panto ASM): Bat out of Hell – Meatloaf
Fiona: Rumours – Fleetwood Mac
Best Gig Ever?
Nick: Recently, I went to a Jamie Cullum gig of his Christmas album. It was the best thing that has ever happened to my ears.
Nigel: Must be the first time I worked Kevin Bloody Wilson , when he started touring the UK in the early 90’s- the reason 1200 people “singing” to me the chorus of one of his songs.. yep, that’s right Niiiigel F***ing Legend!!
Morris: Coldplay concert at Wembley.
Sam (casual): ShyFX 2019
Millie (Panto ASM): Fleetwood Mac
Fiona: Foo Fighters
Top 3 films of all time?
Nick: Iron Man 3, Avengers Endgame, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Nigel: The first 2 films on 35 mm that didn’t break when I was learning to project then! Bohemian Rhapsody – as part of it was filmed at The Beck – and I can live of that piece of information for ever! Just ask anyone and mean anyone who will give me 5, well 10, no ok 15 minutes of their time!

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met?

Sam (casual): Ayia Napa for the weather and cheap drinks
Fiona: Japan because of all the food!
Who is your hero and why?
Nick: Everyone who has got me here today

What are your New Year’s resolutions?
Nick: To support The Beck as the new Deputy Technical Manger.
Nigel: I don’t make them, I really just try to be kind, caring and supporting to all.
