WELCOME – JULY 2024
Dear All,
Welcome to the July 2024 edition of Ensemble.
The country has gone through quite a transformational this past month with the establishment of a new Government. The Society of London Theatre and UK Theatre has written a letter on behalf of its members to the new Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Lisa Nandy, highlighting priorities for the industry including investment in theatre buildings, theatre for every child and a creative education, public investment in the arts, skills and apprenticeships, and the touring and the role of culture in Global Britain. SOLT/UK Theatre has expressed a desire to work collaboratively with the Government to help deliver these priorities.
This month, The People Team announce an incredibly exciting opportunity for ten individuals to join our brand-new Level Three Management course, designed to help you step into management at Trafalgar Entertainment. We have all the details in this month’s newsletter.
On the Production front, Jonathan Church’s new production of A Chorus Line opens in Leicester, and we’re delighted to welcome back our hugely successful and critically-acclaimed production of The Merchant of Venice 1936 starring the wonderful Tracy-Ann Oberman.
Our education business Drama Kids celebrates three major milestones this month, and we celebrate 60 years of the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend.
Enjoy reading this month’s Ensemble, and let’s hope for some long overdue sunshine during the holiday period!
Best wishes
Rosemary
