On Saturday 15 April 2023, the Beck Theatre team will be enduring a 10km Tough Mudder to raise money for their Summer Youth Project 2023!

Tough Mudder is an endurance test with 20 obstacles which will see The Beck’s team challenge themselves with common human fears, such as heights, water, electricity, freezing ice baths and of course… mud! Here you can see Lewis, Charlotte, Steve, Alex and Sam getting a taster of what to expect in The Beck’s very dirty and chilly pond, who will be completing the challenge alongside Nigel and Fiona (who conveniently weren’t available for the photo)!

The money raised will go towards The Beck’s Summer Youth Project (SYP), which provides an affordable activity in an inclusive environment for local young people aged 9-19 in the summer holidays in a borough with one of the lowest cultural engagements in the country.

Through learning the singing, acting, dancing and design for a show, the SYP will develop participants’ transferable skills and strengthen social ties in the local community, thus improving wellbeing, confidence and community cohesion, especially for those who traditionally have had the least access to the creative industries.

By sponsoring the Mudder team, you’ll be helping The Beck to continue with providing the best possible experience and training at the lowest possible cost to the local young people who get involved.
