A NATION CELEBRATES: THE QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE
Our very own Trafalgar Theatre was in the spotlight during the The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend as the Jubilee Pageant led by the Gold State Carriage passed along Whitehall as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Pageant served as an opportunity to gather and pay tribute to Her Majesty. It culminated in the singing of the National Anthem, ‘God Save the Queen’ and a gospel choir to the sounds of the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines.

The Pageant brought to life iconic moments from The Queen’s reign as well as showcasing our changing society over the past 70 years.
10,000 people were involved in the spectacle, including the military, over 6,000 volunteers, performers, key workers and 2,500 members of the general public.
These amazing photos were taken by our very own Chris Glover from Churchill Theatre Bromley!

TE staff also tell us how they have been celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
LAUREN GODDORD – STAGECOACH
I had last week off to spend time with my nieces over half term, but I also enjoyed a couple of Jubilee celebrations:
I visited Windsor Castle for the first time – the highlight for me being the Dolls’ House built for Queen Mary in the 1920s, which even includes running water (hot and cold), electricity and working lifts. Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to take photos, but I did get a snap outside the castle with friends and doing my best Royal impression in the gift shop.
On 6 June, I visited my Nan for a celebratory lunch with her neighbours – one of whom I met for the first time, and it turns out she’s 102! We had great fun with quizzes, a raffle, singing with the neighbours and a cake overload! One local resident baked and decorated a beautiful cake which was even red, white, and blue on the inside!
CAROL NEWTON – HR
Carol Newton from HR has been busy yet again, this time creating these amazing Platinum Jubilee post box toppers!
MERON ROBERTS – TRAFALGAR TICKETS
My village hosted a Jubilee Picnic to mark the occasion. I dressed in red white and blue but sadly didn’t recreate my Silver Jubilee Andy Pandy costume! There was bunting, cake and a bouncy castle. Everything you need for a regal party!

THE CHISWICK CINEMA
The Chiswick Cinema also took part in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations by hosting the launch of Chiswick Children’s Jubilee Artwork. The amazing work of young artists has been displayed in businesses all along Chiswick High Street for the past few weeks.
