The Picture of Dorian Gray wows critics

The Picture of Dorian Gray has received 5 star reviews following its West End Premiere, calling out Sarah Snook’s virtuosic performance, Kip Williams’ ingenious adaptation and direction and Marg Horwell’s stunning design.

The London season is produced by Michael Cassel, Adam Kenwright, Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen, Daryl Roth, Amanda Lipitz and Henry Tisch, and Jonathan Church. The Picture of Dorian Gray runs at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until 11 May 2024.

Kiss Me, Kate trailer released!

A new trailer has just been released for Trafalgar’s brand-new production of Kiss Me, Kate starring the multi-award-winning Adrian Dunbar (Ridley, Line of Duty) making his musical theatre debut as Fred Graham / Petruchio and Broadway musical superstar and Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block (Into The Woods, The Cher Show, 9 To 5) making her West End debut as Lilli Vanessi / Katharine.

Kiss Me, Kate premieres at London’s Barbican Theatre on 4 June 2024.

The Merchant of Venice 1936 Gala Night

The Merchant of Venice 1936  starring the “electrifying” Tracy-Ann Oberman opened to sensational reviews at London’s Criterion Theatre“Deeply relevant in 2024” (The Telegraph), this “thrillingly bold” (Time Out) reimaging of Shakespeare’s classic is a must see and is playing in the West End until 23 March.

Kiss Me, Kate – latest casting news!

Nigel Lindsay and Hammed Animashaun

And in other Kiss Me, Kate news, additional cast has been revealed for Trafalgar’s revival of Cole Porter’s greatest musical comedy.

Joining Adrian and Stephanie are two What’s On Stage Award-winners – Nigel Lindsay (An Enemy of the People) and Hammed Animashaun (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). The duo will play the famous gangster pairing in the show.

Nigel said: “Kiss Me, Kate is one of my favourite musicals. Bart Sher is a world class director and the cast he has assembled will rock the house. I am excited to be joining the team.”

Hammed added: “I’m very, very excited to be a part of this production and company! And I can’t wait to get stuck in and brush up everyone’s Shakespeare!”

Also appearing are the previously announced Charlie Stemp (Crazy for You) and Georgina Onuorah (The Wizard of Oz).

People, Places & Things

And at Trafalgar Theatre, Duncan Macmillan’s (Lungs, 1984) intoxicating hit play People, Places & Things, directed by Jeremy Herrin (Best of Enemies, This House) and designed by Tony Award®-winner Bunny Christie (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), makes a triumphant return to London from 3 May.

Denise Gough reprises her Olivier Award-winning role as Emma, a struggling actress whose life is spinning recklessly out of control. Gough’s ‘explosive and fearless performance’ (Hollywood Reporter) in People, Places & Things has garnered acclaim in London and New York, with critics hailing her performance as ‘stunning’ (Time Out), ‘ingenious’ (The New York Times) and ‘unmissable’ (Evening Standard).
