Trafalgar Entertainment has reinforced its commitment to safeguarding and welfare with the appointment of Jim Barker as the Group’s new Safeguarding & Welfare Business Partner.

Jim joins this Group role from Stagecoach Performing Arts, where he spent more than seven years and most recently served as Head of Operations. He will join Alvin Hargreaves’ team and remain based at Trafalgar’s Woking office.

The newly created role reflects Trafalgar’s continued focus on creating safe, supportive environments across both its venues and education divisions. As part of the Group Operations function, the safeguarding and welfare programme will focus on developing a group-wide safeguarding framework, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and strengthening policies covering workplace safeguarding, child safeguarding, DBS checks and lone working.

Additional priorities include delivering a comprehensive training plan, supporting mental health initiatives, and providing operational guidance across the business.

Working closely with teams across venues, education and support functions, Jim will also help build stronger stakeholder partnerships and ensure safeguarding remains a central part of Trafalgar’s operational and governance approach.
