IT’S THE PANTOMIME AWARDS 2022! OH YES IT IS!
Red jackets are a familiar sight at Trafalgar Theatre as the official London home of Jersey Boys. But last month, red jackets of a different kind were order of the day, as the Pantomime Awards 2022 sponsored by Butlins took over the theatre for one night only!

The Jersey Boys set also doubled up as the perfect stage setting for an awards ceremony as the Trafalgar audience was treated to an evening of laughter and top entertainment.

This year’s event, which was presented by UK Pantomime Association president Christopher Biggins, and big winners on the night included Alexandra Burke, Joe Tracini, Tam Ryan, Paul Hendy, Rob Rinder and Vikki Stone. Nigel Ellacott was awarded the Outstanding Contribution.

The awards show also paid tribute to the many performers and creatives the industry has lost during the last two years with a moving In Memoriam section where the audience stood and applauded throughout the remembrance roll call.

Founded in 2021, the UK Pantomime Association is a new organisation formed to explore, share and celebrate pantomime by investigating the genre’s rich past, engaging with contemporary practice and inspiring the future.
