HOPES FOR 2021 – Part One

We asked colleagues across the Group to share their hopes for the year ahead.

Peter Brayshaw – Stagecoach
Health – for all our friends, family and colleagues to make it through this without succumbing to the virus.
Opportunity – to get back into schools, theatres and cinemas as soon as possible.  We all need the joy that these experiences bring.
People – sounds weird but I never expected to miss the buzz of the office so much and can’t wait to see everybody together again.
Empathy – We’ve become a more caring society and world as a result of these shared experiences.  I hope we can all hold onto this when things return to normality… and they will!

My first and unsurprising hope is that theatres will reopen across the country and we will be able to make shows again as soon as possible. I also hope that we will all take some positives forward from the last year, including offering compassion and empathy for others and ourselves, and having a united commitment to improve diversity and inclusion throughout our industry.

My hopes are for more opportunities to spend time with friends, family, colleagues and of course a full return to live entertainment which I’m sure will be much needed by all after this winter! I hope as we approach the summer months we’ll start to hear less about social “bubbles” and travel restrictions and more about getting safely back to doing the things we all enjoy.
