EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: TAL ROSEN
Where do you work and what do you do?
I’m the Theatre Director at the Orchard Theatre and Orchard West in Dartford.
Describe yourself in three words:
Enthusiastic. Ambitious. Passionate.
Favourite stage production and why?
Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. I worked on this production on Broadway, and it was truly unforgettable. The most expensive show in Broadway history, it was sensational and had everything you could want from a production – jaw-dropping sets, incredible choreography, a powerful story and unforgettable music (by U2).
Top three favourite songs:
- Have a Little Faith in Me – John Hiatt (my wedding song)
- Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me – Elton John & George Michael
- At Last – Etta James
Top three films of all time:
- Catch me if you Can
- The Wolf of Wall Street
- Inception

What’s your cooking masterpiece?
It’s a close call between Shakshuka and Spaghetti Bolognese – depends on the mood!
Your greatest sporting achievement?
Daily Peloton sessions! (I don’t think coming last in the 1500m at school really counts…)
Who is your hero and why?
Cameron Mackintosh. His determination, passion and role in shaping the global theatrical landscape are truly inspiring – and he’s a huge reason why I work in this incredible (and slightly crazy!) industry.
Any New Year’s resolutions?
To be the best version of myself and live every day to the fullest.
Holiday plans for 2026?
Disneyland Paris, New York, and somewhere hot!
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Without doubt, re-opening the Orchard Theatre and bringing the incredible Orchard team back home for a spectacular pantomime in a brand-new, improved venue, getting back to normality and the week-long musical touring circuit!
