Welcome to our monthly who’s who of Trafalgar Entertainment. This month we say hello to Saskia van der Lingen!

Where do you work and what do you do?
I’m the Marketing Assistant at Trafalgar Releasing and – sitting next to the buzzer – I’ll probably be the first person you see when visiting our office! On a day to day basis, I support the marketing team by keeping our shared drive updated with assets, writing briefs for exhibitors and newsletters for thousands of subscribers, managing our social channels, plus much more; one of the things I enjoy most about my role is the variety, no day is the same. My team will probably also tell you I criticise every film that comes out and am known to be a bit ‘extra’ with my lunches.

Career highlight so far?
Getting involved with all the events & premieres we’ve put on, including McKellen: Playing the Part, The Man from Mo’Wax, the re-release of Monty Python’s Life of Brian. Seeing Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds perform twice in a summer following our release of Distant Sky: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Live in Copenhagen was also very cool. On the whole, I particularly enjoy the fan reactions, whether it be people getting up and dancing in cinemas, or the flood of reactions after we announce an upcoming release on social media. 

Favourite stage production?
To be completely honest, I haven’t actually taken full advantage of being in London and seeing lots of shows, but recent favourites have included Admissions and Europe. 

Favourite song?
This changes pretty often but right now – Leisure – Got It Bad. 

Top 3 films?
High Fidelity, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Snowpiercer. 

Top 3 dinner party guests (alive or dead)?
Nick Cave, Bill Murray, J. D. Salinger.

Favourite holiday destination?
I am completely obsessed with Lisbon. 

Biggest regret in life?
Not learning an instrument properly as a child. 

Who is your hero?
Both of my sisters.
