EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: KATIE WOOD

Welcome to our monthly who’s who of Trafalgar Entertainment. This month we say hello to Katie Wood!

Where do you currently work and what do you do?
I currently work in my living room and on site at the cinema in Chiswick. I look after the marketing for the cinema, trying to encourage people to visit our fabulous venue!

Describe yourself in 3 words!
Smiley, organised, passionate

Favourite stage production and why?
Frankenstein at the National Theatre – I was blown away by the performances and retelling of a very familiar story. It was one of the first ever shows that was recorded for live streaming and the atmosphere was electric.

Favourite album?
Blackstreet’s Another Level holds amazing memories for me and has some old school classics! If I’m allowed a greatest hits, then Michael Jackson’s HIStory is just pure talent.

Best ever gig?

Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium album release party at BBC Studios. Being front and centre hearing Under the Bridge live is something I’ll never forget!

Top 3 films of all time?
This question is impossible for someone who lives and breathes film both professionally and personally! At this moment, I’d say Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Coming To America and Remember the Titans.

What’s your go to TV binge boxset?
As much as I’ve binged over the last year, nothing has yet come close to The Wire.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Miami – it’s home from home with friends and family there, sunshine, the sea and great weather!

Your Greatest sporting achievement?
Not much! Due to injury I’m not able to do a lot. I did teach swimming to little kids when I was younger and seeing them learn how to swim was really rewarding.

What’s your cooking masterpiece?

Having been on Keto for the last few years, I’ve had to completely change my cooking habits. So I’d say my (carb free, gluten free) coated chicken is a favourite!

Who is your hero and why?
My Mum. She lost both her parents at a very young age and has turned that devastation into the most incredible charity for children under the age of eighteen who have lost a parent or a sibling. She is a true inspiration, running a household with 4 kids, getting a PHD, whilst endlessly supporting bereaved families during the most awful times of their lives.
