EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: AMALIA VAN EERDE
Welcome to our monthly who’s who of Trafalgar Entertainment. This month we say hello to Amalia van Eerde!
Which room do you currently work in at home and what do you do?
I am Partner Sales Manager at London Theatre Direct and manage the B2B relationships with new and existing partners. I live in a one bedroom flat with my boyfriend so space is limited! We share the dining table in our open plan kitchen/lounge which is difficult when we both have frequent zoom calls… plus our cat tends to make an appearance. However, now the weather is improving I get to work from the balcony!
Describe yourself in 3 words!
Driven, kind and empathetic.
Favourite stage production and why?
This is a really tough one but out of the last shows I got to see, & Juliet was a lot of fun and I left the theatre feeling so giddy and happy…thoroughly recommend!
Favourite album?
This is a hard one as well! I would say one my faves is the first album I ever bought at age 8 which was ¿Dónde Están Los Ladrones? by Shakira. It was her first hit album in Colombia/Latin America, way before she became the global superstar she is today.
Best ever gig?
Hands down Beyonce on the I Am… World Tour. She is called Queen Bey for a reason (plus we share the same birthday).
Top 3 films of all time?
Breakfast at Tiffany’s with Audrey Hepburn (swoon!), Good Will Hunting and for an easy watch I always stick on Bad Neighbors.
What’s your go to TV binge boxset?
I love Catastrophe. If you don’t know…
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Colombia hands down! I am half Colombian so a tad biased.
Your Greatest sporting achievement?
Ha! Egg and spoon race at school? I’m not the sportiest person but I do love yoga.
What’s your cooking masterpiece?
I love eating but not so much the cooking part so I don’t have a masterpiece but I do a fantastic mashed potato (secret ingredient is lots of butter and philadelphia cheese!)
Who is your hero and why?
This is also tough as there are so many people I look up to but I would have to say my mum who I share the same name with. She is truly an amazing person despite managing an auto-immune disease called Lupus which is heavily under-funded and very little is known about it. Despite all this she is such a fighter and has truly inspired me in life. This year has been particularly tough without being able to see her and has made me realize even more how lucky I am to have her.
