MAKING A DIFFERENCE
We’re excited to share the first update from the TE Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.
At Trafalgar Entertainment we want to ensure we all build meaningful, enduring and respectful relationships with each other, our customers, our people, our suppliers and our teams. We want people to feel a true sense of belonging here at Trafalgar Entertainment, a place where we celebrate and embrace diversity and a place where people can be their true authentic selves.
So what is Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and why is it so important?
EQUALITY can mean many different things to many different people but, essentially, it’s about making sure that everyone is treated fairly.
DIVERSITY is about recognising, valuing and taking account of people’s different backgrounds, knowledge, skills and experiences. It’s also important to create a productive and effective space for people to be themselves (a true sense of belonging). Having diversity will create an inclusive environment for everyone.
INCLUSION is how well the contributions, presence and perspectives of different groups of people are valued and integrated into an environment. In addition to this, people should feel comfortable and confident to be themselves.

To be more diverse, we require a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion by everyone. To drive change, we all need to commit time and energy and support the EDI initiatives the working group have planned for 2022.
We can all make a difference by treating everyone with respect and kindness, educating and promoting inclusion, and celebrating diversity both at work and in our everyday lives
Throughout this year and beyond, the Trafalgar Entertainment EDI Working Group will be introducing initiatives and will be sharing these with you in our monthly updates here. In a few editions time, we will publish ‘Who We Are’, ‘Our Vision’ and ‘Our EDI Strategy’ which will encompass our approach and our aim of having EDI values at the heart of everything we do. You will also notice that we will feature regularly in Ensemble where we hope to share regular updates, new initiatives, something for you to learn and take away each month, as well as celebrating diversity within our group.

We will kick things off by publishing some virtual EDI training dates across the year and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you. The training will be a great starting point for everyone and we will be issuing digital certificates upon completion so you can celebrate your commitment and passion for making a difference.
In next month’s edition of Ensemble, we will be communicating ways in which you can contact the EDI Working Group. Perhaps you have something to suggest? Something you would like us to discuss or consider?
HOT OFF THE PRESS! HOT OFF THE PRESS!

Stagecoach Performing Arts will soon be rolling out EDI training to its global network of franchisees via their virtual Online Learning Development Platform too! We will let you know how they get on….
Please join us on this journey to educate each other, stand up and make change happen!
