The multi-award winning and critically acclaimed Lincoln Center Theater’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I is coming back to UK cinemas by popular demand on 4 April. Receiving both critical and audience acclaim, the film achieved the highest box office globally for a stage to screen event release of 2018.
BIG SCREEN OPERA AND BALLET
Trafalgar Releasing brings two stunning productions to UK cinemas next month. The Metropolitan Opera’s 2018-19 season continues with La Fille du Régiment, streamed live from New York to UK cinemas on 2 March.
Full of wit and invention, Donizetti’s comic opera is a delight. The famous aria “Ah, Mes Amis,” with its nine high Cs, is one of opera’s most show-stopping numbers.
JONI 75 GETS UK RELEASE
Following a successful US release this February, JONI 75 will be coming to UK cinemas on 21 March. Audiences will join an incredible array of singers and musicians who came together to honour one of the world’s most remarkable artists, Joni Mitchell, on her 75th birthday.

The team from Trafalgar Releasing picked up an incredible four awards the Event Cinema Association’s slate day at VUE West End earlier this month.
The King and I: From The London Palladium was awarded Highest Performing Theatre Title of 2018, whilst the honour of Highest Performing Music Title of 2018 went to BTS’s Burn the Stage: The Movie.

Trafalgar Releasing kicks off 2019 in style with some exciting new cinema releases next month.
Don’t miss this revival of Sir Richard Eyre’s dynamic production of The Metropolitan Opera: Carmen, coming to UK cinemas on 2 February. Mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine plays opera’s ultimate seductress, while Roberto Alagna returns to the role of Don José, the good-hearted soldier in whom she unleashes an uncontrollable passion.
THE KING AND I BREAKS BOX OFFICE RECORDS!
The film version of the multiple Tony award-winning Lincoln Center Theater production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I: From the London Palladium has become the biggest theatre event in cinemas of 2018 following global screenings at the end of November.
The production is expected to take $2.5m at the box office.

Featuring one of the finest scores ever written including the much-loved Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, and Shall We Dance, The King and I is comprised of a company of over 50 world-class performers.
