FUN-FILLED NIGHT IN CARDIFF AS NEW THEATRE RE-OPENS ITS DOORS
New Theatre Cardiff re-opened in spectacular style last month with the press night of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and a glittering re-opening celebration.
Celebs including former rugby star, Gareth Thomas, and H from pop super group, Steps, attended the glitzy affair along with local dignitaries and colleagues from across TE. The event was also attended by a group of Cardiff’s finest drag queens!
The theatre was appropriately dressed in a way that Priscilla would have been proud of and guests and cast members were treated to a delicious buffet courtesy of HQ’s hospitality team.
Chris McGuigan, Group Director of Marketing & Sales HQ Theatres, said: “The New Theatre’s opening night was a watershed moment – the first commercial theatre in Wales to stage a post-pandemic performance; the last venue in the HQ portfolio to reopen; and of course we were celebrating the completion of their re-mobilisation under HQ’s operation.
“The team at the venue did a fantastic job of marking the occasion with a party atmosphere; cupcakes, balloons, media coverage and more – all achieved in a very pressurised environment and at breakneck speed. It says everything about the spirit of the New Theatre team that the evening passed flawlessly and without a hitch.
“It was truly fantastic to see the venue up-and-running again – and to welcome everyone there to the HQ/TE family.”
