Theatre Royal Sydney have enjoyed an exciting week with two huge production announcements!

SIX the Musical was announced and went on sale for a limited 5-week season from 26 August in its return to Sydney after immense public demand. The production broke the daily sales record for the venue and if it’s anything like its previous Sydney season, it’ll be sold out in no time!

On Monday 1 August, Theatre Royal Sydney hosted the launch for TINA – The Tina Turner Musical, which will play at the venue from May 2023, and will be produced by TEG Dainty in special collaboration with Stage Entertainment.

Tina Turner’s Australian connections run deep. Upon its original release in 1973, her semi-autobiographical hit Nutbush City Limits spent an entire year in the top 100 of Australia’s single chart – so you can only imagine what the audience will be like when the song plays at the end of the performance. Turner also starred in the Australian film Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome with her chart-topping single We Don’t Need Another Hero in the film and her smash hit The Best becoming the centrepiece of the National Rugby League in the 90s.

With five productions currently on sale or announced for Theatre Royal Sydney, there’s big things to come for our first Australian venue.
