HELLO AND WELCOME – JULY 2022

Welcome to July edition of Ensemble. I hope you’re all keeping well and enjoying the summer.

Howard and I, along with others from TE, enjoyed a recent visit to The Chiswick Cinema to help the team celebrate one year since opening its doors. The boutique cinema opened in the midst of the pandemic, but has gone from strength to strength, building a loyal customer base, growing its Founder Members scheme and offering a range of unique events for its supporters. Congratulations to Kathryn Smith and her team on a successful first year, and thank you for the fabulous hospitality during the birthday celebrations.

We have another milestone birthday coming up this month, as we celebrate one year of Trafalgar Theatre. And in this edition of Ensemble we meet some of the FOH team.

On the production front, our award-winning Anything Goes returns to the Barbican Theatre for a second summer season and we look forward to the press night next week. We’ve finally been able to announce the long-awaited, Covid-delayed production of The Merchant of Venice 1936 in partnership with the Watford Palace Theatre and the RSC, and Jonathan Church’s co-production of South Pacific opens in Manchester later this month before transferring to Sadler’s Wells.

Finally, congratulations to everyone at Stagecoach Performing Arts for a hugely successful Annual Conference in Stratford-upon-Avon. It was the first time in over two years that everyone was able to get together in one room to celebrate their achievements. The event was attended by Stagecoach’s senior management team and hundreds of franchisees from around the world.

Until next time, take care of yourselves.

Best wishes
Rosemary
