MEET OUR FURRY FRIENDS!

This was always going to be a popular feature! To celebrate National Pet Month, we asked staff from across TE to submit photos of their furry friends and you didn’t disappoint. Here’s the first of two pet galleries, guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

Don’t forget, in the next Ensemble we’d love to see photos of your favourite walking spots as we mark National Walking Month. Send your pics along with a short explanation of where it is and why you love walking there to Dave Bradbury via email [email protected]

Above is Trixie Belle Lunamoon Tanner-Ford, whose owner is Briony Tanner from Stagecoach! Trixie is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is apparently descended from royalty and bred to sit on your lap to keep you warm. She is 6-years-old and she has been in Briony’s family since she was 10-weeks-old. Briony’s then 3-year-old daughter named her after Evil Trixie from My Little Pony. She is a complete princess and hates the rain!

Above right is 11-year-old Lady, who’s a Yorkie/Maltese who was rescued 9 years ago by Jayne Middleton from Stagecoach. Despite a very traumatic start in life, she found her ‘creative courage for life’ with Jayne and now gives the postman what for whenever he dares to put something through the letterbox! She spent the pandemic having four operations on one of her back legs but she made it through and is now truly a pampered pooch. Her happiest place is in the garden sunbathing when she gets the chance.

Above left is Pablo, a Chihuahua who was rescued by Steve Sargeant, Theatre Director at The Beck Theatre Hayes. At just 7-weeks-old, Pablo was being bullied by the rest of the litter, so it was either a dogs home or Steve’s home. Needless to say, Steve couldn’t say no to that face and they’ve shared the strongest of bonds ever since. He’s a brilliant dog for such a tiny man and he has a LOT of personality.

Above right is Jo Scalpello’s gorgeous but noisy companion, Monty. He used to be a quiet dog but since Covid and working from home – he now saves his extreme barking sessions for calls with the Board, staff or really important project calls (often exasperated by a household of teens who are addicted to using Amazon).

Meet Peggy from Australia who loves chilling on the couch! She is owned by Houri Tapiki from Theatre Royal Sydney
Birdie the dog owned by Beth Treen, Administrator, Swindon Theatres and Steven Hoye, Casual Technician, Swindon Theatres

Keep reading Ensemble for Part Two of our Furry Friends Gallery!
