TRANSGENDER DAY OF VISIBILITY

TE’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group highlights the upcoming Transgender Day of Visibility.

Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual international awareness day on 31 March dedicated to recognising the resilience and accomplishments of the transgender community. It also aims to raise awareness of the work that still needs to be done to achieve trans justice.

What does it mean to be transgender?
There are different definitions of being transgender to different people. The most common definition of a transgender person is someone whose gender identity turns out to be different from the gender they were thought to be at birth.
