HOPES FOR 2021 – Part Three

In this final part, other TE colleagues share their hopes for 2021.

Vanessa Hills – More2Screen
I hope that the vaccination programme is rolled out quickly allowing life to return to some kind of normality where we are able to spend unlimited time with family and friends doing the things that we love – like going to the cinema!

Andrew Hill – TE The Strand
My overriding hope for 2021 is that our families, friends and colleagues stay safe and healthy, and that before too long we can emerge from our enforced hibernation and start to enjoy everything which, until recently, we used to take for granted.

On a personal note I am hoping that the rigours of home schooling will bring fresh enlightenment and new reserves of patience.  My plan is to end the year tipping the scales at the same weight as when I was 25, a few short years ago.  To achieve this, I will resolve to eat fewer chocolate digestives during Teams calls!

Andrew busy home schooling!

Katie Wood – Chiswick Cinema
We hope to be able to open the doors of the cinema (in the not-too-distant future) to the very patient and excited residents of Chiswick, giving them an escape for a few hours as well as a memorable experience from the moment they walk through the doors.

I also hope to be able to sit in front of the big screen again, with the excitement of the opening credits, the immersion in another world and the shared experience with those around me.

I hope that we start seeing the back of Covid this year! I’m sure I am not alone in saying this, and as resilient as we are, it’s exhausting feeling powerless. On the more positive note, I am hoping for normality back in our lives and being able to do simple things such as going out to have a coffee or seeing a play.

Personally, I don’t have new year’s resolutions so every year I aim to learn something new and travel to a new place. I am not sure about travelling this year though! I applied to be a mentor at my old university and got accepted so I’m very excited. I am also aiming to successfully complete my CIM course and run longer distances again (I’ve been lazy this last year!)
