DO NOT PASS GO!
Southend Theatres feature on new Monopoly board
There was much excitement in Southend on 19 March as the newest Monopoly board was launched featuring both the Cliffs Pavilion and The Palace Theatre. The launch took place at the Palace Theatre and was attended by theatre staff, local councillors and press.

In all, more than 30 Southend landmarks and organisations feature on the board, including Southend Pier (the longest pleasure pier in the world, don’t you know), the Central Museum and Planetarium and The Palace Theatre & Cliffs Pavilion plus lots more of the city’s A Lister landmarks and organisations.

When it was announced last year that Southend-on-Sea was to have the full Monopoly treatment, the public were asked to suggest iconic places in the city to feature on the board and both Southend Theatres venues were at the top of the suggestions.
The Monopoly: Southend-on-Sea Edition is in the shops now, just in time for Easter 2026. The board will be available at Waterstones and Toys N Tuck – as well as online at Amazon and www.winningmoves.co.uk
