EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: SCOTT FILLAN
Where do you work and what do you do?
I work at the legendary Glasgow Pavilion and I am the Venue Marketing Executive.
Describe yourself in 3 words!
Amazing, Genius, Humble
Favourite stage production and why?
Miss Saigon – I’ve seen it on Broadway as managed to get a single ticket for $8 and went to the bar and ordered a wine that cost $42 dollars. There’s some things money can’t buy, and for everything else there are New York theatre prices!
Favourite album?
Frank Sinatra’s “Nothing but the Best”.
Best ever gig?
Jimmy Eat World
Top 3 films of all time?
The Great Escape, Good Will Hunting, Toy Story.
What’s your go to TV binge boxset?
Faulty Towers
Any holiday plans this year?
After spending my life savings in Barcelona last week I’ll be lucky to get away for a pint and a burger in Wetherspoons. But Barcelona was mucho perfecto.
Your Greatest sporting achievement?
I came fifth place in the egg and spoon race when I was nine. The race was rigged. Later it would be found that the headteacher was fixing the races and running an undercover gambling operation for the local mafia. But very proud of that fifth place medal.
What’s your cooking masterpiece?
Mashed potatoes. The secret is to low-heat boil cream in a pot with garlic and rosemary, then drain the cream into your boiled potatoes and you have delicious succulent garlic and rosemary-infused mashed potatoes. (Thank me later).
Who is your hero and why?
Anyone who chooses to dedicate their life to serving others. I am thankful for these people to exist in the world. Most of the time it’s a thankless, underfunded and underpaid profession but certain people wake up every day and choose to help their fellow beings. (And also Hugh Jackman).
