The multi Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I is now touring the UK!

Broadway star and film actor Darren Lee (Hackers/Sisters/Chicago/Guys and Dolls) plays the title role of The King of Siam opposite Helen George, known to millions for the past decade as Trixie in the hit BBC One series Call The Midwife, who stars as Anna Leonowens.

The production is now touring to venues all over the country – visiting Canterbury, Wimbledon, Liverpool, Birmingham, Llandudno, High Wycombe, Bristol, Dartford, Bradford, Southend, Cardiff, Hull, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Stoke-On-Trent, Southampton, Belfast and Dublin. Further UK cities and details of a major international tour will be announced soon.

The King and I also performed at Big Night of Musicals last month.

For the second year running, Big Night Of Musicals was staged by The National Lottery at the AO Arena Manchester, bringing together the biggest shows from the world of theatre for a spectacular celebration.

Coverage of this musical extravaganza will be broadcast in a special 90-minute programme on BBC One and in a programme on BBC Radio 2 in the Spring.
