SIAN’S BIG MARATHON CHALLENGE!
Sian McBride, Deputy Marketing Manager at the Wycombe Swan, tells us all about her big challenge for 2023!
Running, it’s just putting one foot in front of the other (and usually ends doubled over, drenched in sweat and gasping for air) but I love it. I used to joke that the reason I laced up my trainers most evenings was because I liked to run away from my problems. The truth is, it’s helped solve them, and this year I’d like to use my coping method to help find a method to cure what many people should never cope with. Cancer.
This year should be a big for milestone celebrations in my family, there are 30th, 50th, 60th and 80th birthdays, but a few people won’t reach theirs. My Aunt should be turning 50 this year, but she died of Cancer 11 years ago, aged 38.
This April I will be running London Marathon in support of Cancer Research UK. London is where my Aunt grew up, and where she took me to visit museums and the Millennium Dome when I was growing up (can you tell who’s turning 30 yet?).
I know the cost of living has affected everyone, but if you would like to donate and support my fundraising, then please click on the link below, thank you.
