TEAM OF THE MONTH: CHURCHILL THEATRE BROMLEY TECHNICAL
This month, our spin on the regular Employee of the Month feature continues as we present a new Team of the Month!
Where do you work and what do you do?
Nic Barnes: We are the technical team at The Churchill Theatre in Bromley. From co-productions to stand-up, and from major musicals to Creative Learning projects, we ensure the production process encompasses all the skills, values and commitment expected of a First Class Theatre.
What’s been the biggest challenge for the Team since the venue reopened post Covid?
Nic Barnes: The number of casual staff leaving the industry during lockdown has meant training new staff “on the job”. With the help and understanding of our touring colleagues, we are starting to see a new generation of technicians learn and flourish.
What makes your Team work so well?
Nic Barnes: Trust, patience and camaraderie. Over a sixteen hour day these are difficult to maintain, but we seem to find a way.
