ALL CHANGE AT TE!
There has been a lot of change at TE recently as we’ve said hello to new faces, farewell to others and congratulations to colleagues who are taking on new roles! Let’s take a look at all the changes.
TICKETING
We’re delighted to welcome Johan Oosterveld as CEO of Trafalgar Tickets. Johan’s focus will be to build on the foundations of our new centralised regional ticketing structures; with a view to developing the operation that we now have in place; and widening our participation in regional markets. Johan was latterly SVP Global Distribution Partnerships at TodayTix Group and spent 17 years in various roles with Encore. He brings exceptional skills in ticketing systems, distribution and industry partnerships.
CONTENT
Ellen McPhillips has taken up a new role as Regional Programming Director, ensuring all week-long content is centralised and managed to ensure we maximise opportunities with our own in-house content and secure optimum deals for content from third-party producers. Previous to this, Ellen was Theatre Director of the Southend Venues since 2007, during which time she successfully led the teams at the Cliffs Pavilion and Palace Theatre – transforming them into Southend’s principle cultural assets. Prior to running Southend, Ellen worked as a General Manager at Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk.

IT
There have some changes internally within the Group IT team. Emily Mahon starts a new role in the team as Senior IT Coordinator and we have a new starter, Jasmine Lambert, who has joined this week as Group IT Coordinator. Sadly, Olivia Morgan left the team as Project Delivery Manager in December.
The other members of the IT team, who joined recently are Krupa Patel as Business Data Manager, who will be working on business process improvement and process automation; Khris Seenatamby who is our EPOS Systems Specialist currently working closely with the regional venues; and Alberto Prado who is our Cinema Systems Administrator based at Chiswick Cinema.

PEOPLE & ORGANISATION
Susan McGuire, who joined us in April 2021, will take up a new position as People and Organisational Development Director to help shape our growing organisation and align our people, performance and culture goals.
Emma Bennetts has been promoted to Associate Human Resources Director. A special thank you to Emma and the HR team who worked tirelessly through the pandemic to ensure our people were supported and also managed the complex and challenging furlough scheme.

REGIONAL VENUES
Sadly, people also decide to move on, and we are sorry to be saying goodbye later this year to Julian Russell, CEO of the HQ venues. We would like to thank Julian for the significant contribution he has made to the venues over the years, and in particular the magnificent job he’s done in successfully steering the HQ business through the pandemic and more recently remobilising venues to ensure we maximised the opportunities of reopening. We wish Julian and his family all the best for the future.
Other news in the Regional venues is the appointment of David Mansfield, who was formerly Theatre Director at Wycombe Swan and is currently Head of Dubai Opera. He returns to replace Ellen as Theatre Director for The Cliffs Pavilion Southend and Palace Theatre, Westcliff.

PRODUCTIONS
And as previously revealed, we were pleased to announce the promotion of both Dan Brodie and Matt Parritt to Executive Producers of Trafalgar Theatre Productions. Both have been instrumental in helping Trafalgar Entertainment and the theatre industry recover post lockdown. As you will have read in The Stage, we are very proud that they have been recognised as playing an important role in the theatre industry’s future, being named as ones to watch.

AUSTRALIA
Nick Cook has also decided to step down from his role as Technical Manager at the Theatre Royal Sydney. Nick was part of the hard-working team who were instrumental in getting the theatre open and up and running during a pandemic. He has spent the past 10 years working in Sydney at four wonderful venues.
