Happy New Year and welcome to the first Ensemble of 2021. I do hope you all managed to celebrate Christmas as best you could given the circumstances with your families and loved ones. I’m sure it was a poignant and reflective time for everyone.

As the new year begins, another national lockdown might not quite have been the start to 2021 we were all hoping for.

We’re now faced with even more challenges and the next few months will be particularly tough for us all. However, there is hope on the horizon as the Government’s mass vaccination programme gets underway and with three vaccinations now approved for use in the UK, we must try and remain optimistic and hopeful for the future. And although the recovery process may take much longer than anticipated, our industry is resilient and it will bounce back. To reiterate the line from our Christmas card; here’s to a brighter, happier and healthier 2021.

In December’s Ensemble, colleagues from across the Group shared their Reflections of 2020. This month, as part of a follow-up series, more TE staff unveil their Hopes for 2021. It’s so important that we keep talking and try and stay connected. You never know, it may just help, inspire or comfort somebody else during this time.
