WAR HORSE AND STAGECOACH – CREATING ENRICHED EXPERIENCES FOR LIFE
With the mighty War Horse currently on tour in Australia a great opportunity has arisen for Trafalgar Theatre Productions and Stagecoach Performing Arts to work together to provide an enriched entertainment experience for Stagecoach students and their families.
Stagecoach has two Western Australian franchisees running five schools between them across Perth and next month, both franchisees will be taking students to see the production and also take part in a special pre-show workshop.
War Horse features ground-breaking puppetry work by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, which brings breathing, galloping horses to life on stage. The Puppetry Workshop will be run by the company’s Resident Puppetry Director and two puppeteers and will feature Goose and some of the smaller puppet creations from the production.
Stagecoach CEO Sarah Kelly, said, “War Horse in Australia is a terrific example of how our companies can collaborate and provide wonderful entertainment experiences to enrich people’s lives. Through the War Horse workshops and tickets for Stagecoach families in Perth, this is a great opportunity for students to get up close and personal with this very special production. Our teams are now in talks to see what enterprising experiences we can develop in the UK for The King and I.”
War Horse is currently playing at the Sydney Lyric Theatre until 15 March, before moving on to Perth Crown Theatre (24 March – 12 April) followed by the Esplanade Theatre, Singapore (24 April – 10 May). Further international dates are to be announced.
