SIR KEIR STARMER ENJOYS A NIGHT AT THE THEATRE
Former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is the latest high-profile visitor to have attended JCTP’s acclaimed production of To Kill A Mockingbird during its hugely successful London run.
Sir Keir recently spent an evening at the theatre watching the production and, following the performance, went backstage to meet the cast and congratulate them on the show’s success.
His visit follows that of England football star Jude Bellingham, who attended a performance with his mum last month.
The production has attracted a host of notable names throughout its London engagement, reflecting its widespread appeal and critical acclaim.
JAMIE IS OUR VERY OWN STAR BAKER!
Everyone at Imagine Theatre is celebrating the launch of a very special passion project from Strategic Marketing Lead, Jamie Leadbeatter.
Starting From Scratch is Jamie’s brand-new recipe book, packed with more than 25 of his favourite recipes, lovingly created and tested in his own kitchen. From delicious bakes to family favourites, the collection offers home cooks the chance to recreate some of Jamie’s go-to dishes.
Those who know Jamie will be well aware of his talent in the kitchen. In fact, anyone fortunate enough to have sampled one of his cakes already knows just how talented a baker he is.
The project has been a true labour of love, combining Jamie’s passion for food with a desire to give back. For every copy of Starting From Scratch sold, £1 will be donated and split equally between Macmillan Cancer Support and St Michael’s Hospice, helping to support the incredible work both charities do.
Everyone at Imagine Theatre is incredibly proud of Jamie and wishes him every success with his fantastic new venture.
London Theatre Direct recently launched an autumn campaign called ‘September Spectacular’ as a solution to the seasonally softer September performances.

CHISWICK CINEMA HOPES FOR AWARDS SUCCESS
The Chiswick Cinema has entered the BIFA Cinema of the Year Award.
The shortlist will be announced in October and the winner will be crowned at this year’s BIFA Ceremony on 6 December.
BIFA (British Independent Film Awards C.I.C.) is an internationally renowned organisation that celebrates, promotes, and supports independent filmmaking and filmmakers in the UK.
SWINDON THEATRES DEMONSTRATES EXCELLENCE IN WORKFORCE CULTURE
In other awards news, Swindon Theatres has been nominated for a UK Theatre Award in the category of Excellence in Workforce Culture!
For over 30 years, this annual event has celebrated the creative excellence and outstanding achievements seen on and off stage throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The winners will be announced at this year’s ceremony, taking place on Monday 12 October at 8 Northumberland Avenue, hosted by La Voix.

THE NUTCRACKER: MAGIC AND MISCHIEF
On Tuesday 8 September, the cast and creatives for this year’s festive show at the Palace Theatre in Southend, gathered together to welcome press and content creators to the venue to get a sneak peek of the show: The Nutcracker: Magic & Mischief. This production is a collaboration between Wind Song Theatre and the Palace Theatre.
On hand were Lily Streames and Rebecca Ward, who are Wind Song Theatre. Lily takes on directing duties this year and Beccy has written the show and plays the part of the Sugar Plum Fairy. They were joined by Harry McLlroy (The Nutcracker), Eugen Griffin (Fritz), Demi Butcher (Clara) and Benjamin Victor (The Mouse King).
The show is a re-imaging of the classic ETA Hoffman’s fairytale The Nutcracker and The Mouse King written in 1816. This new version has original songs written by Aston Moore.
Members of the content team and campaign managers for the show joined in the fun too.
