DEATH NOTE: THE MUSICAL ANNOUNCES NEW 2027 BARBICAN SEASON
Following the sell-out success and critical acclaim of its strictly limited 2026 season, the worldwide phenomenon DEATH NOTE: THE MUSICAL will return to London’s Barbican Theatre from 23 March – 15 May 2027, giving more fans and musical lovers alike the opportunity to experience this spectacular new musical.
Having set a new Barbican record for the highest-grossing week of any musical, and broken the venue’s record for highest-grossing single performance on five consecutive occasions, DEATH NOTE: THE MUSICAL was hailed by the Radio Times as “the best show I have seen in the last decade” and by the Financial Times as “a riotous spectacle” and has become the hit of the year.
This bold new production brings the iconic Japanese manga to life with a thrilling rock score, soaring power ballads, spectacular design and a striking visual world. Its return to London in 2027 reflects the growing global influence of Japanese and Eastern popular culture, from manga and fashion to the worldwide phenomenon of K-pop. DEATH NOTE: THE MUSICAL is cultural exchange in action, taking one of Japan’s most iconic stories and transforming it into a uniquely theatrical experience for a global audience.
LA VOIX HEADS TO THE WEST END AS LONDON PALLADIUM DATE IS ANNOUNCED
La Voix is heading to the West End! Following the huge response to the announcement of her 2027 UK tour La Voix Live it has been confirmed that she will visit the iconic London Palladium on 22nd March 2027, with new dates also added in Manchester and Blackpool in April due to popular demand.
On performing in her own show for the very first time on the Palladium stage La Voix says: “Playing the London Palladium is quite honestly a dream come true. I grew up watching the greats from Judy Garland to Shirley Bassey and imagining what it must feel like to stand where they stood.”
The Palladium has always represented the very essence of showbusiness to me: glamour, history and magic. So, to walk onto that stage, with my own show, is going to be an incredibly emotional moment.
“It feels like the little La Voix who watched those performances all those years ago is finally getting her moment under those lights. Last year it blew my mind that I performed and sold-out Drury Lane… this is the next level!”
And to top it all off, La Voix took time out of her busy promo schedule to pop into Trafalgar Towers to meet staff at The Strand office!
STAGECOACH MANAGER STARS IN FIDDLER ON THE ROOF AUSTRALIA
Stagecoach Performing Arts Manager Ellen Ebbs, from Stagecoach Leichardt and Annandale in Sydney, is starring in the Australian premiere tour of the multi-award-winning musical Fiddler on the Roof and recently invited her students to experience the production during its Sydney season.
Produced by Trafalgar Theatre Productions, Fiddler on the Roof is one of the most celebrated musical revivals in recent years. Following record-breaking, sold-out seasons in London and across the UK, the critically acclaimed production is now touring Australia visiting Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
Ellen has been part of the Stagecoach family since 2023, and was excited to share this special milestone with the students she teaches and mentors each week. Ellen said: “My Stagecoach journey began way back in 2023 in Perth, where I was the drama teacher whilst studying Music Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). My favourite part about teaching drama was directing the major production. I had so much fun collaborating with both the singing and dance teachers and working with the students on character development and storytelling.“
Ellen continued, “In 2025, I moved back home to Sydney and became the manager of the brand-new Stagecoach Leichardt and Annandale. I was excited and scared! I knew I wanted to create an inclusive environment where students could feel comfortable to be themselves, daring to be bold and make mistakes.
“We started with a humble six students, and now we have more than 50 students across the school. I absolutely love the Stagecoach motto of teaching, ‘Creative Courage for Life’, because nothing gives me greater joy than seeing a student’s growth in confidence and social skills, as well as improving their performance abilities.
“Every week, I am so inspired by the students, and I am so proud of the community we have created at Stagecoach Leichardt and Annandale.”
Ellen invited Stagecoach students and their families to attend the Sydney run of Fiddler on the Roof in August, offering a unique opportunity for the young performers to see one of their own teachers starring in a major professional production.
Houri Tapiki, General Manager of Theatre Royal Sydney, said the experience would be particularly inspiring for Ellen’s students. Houri said: “We were delighted to welcome Ellen Ebbs and the cast of Fiddler on the Roof to Theatre Royal Sydney. Ellen’s journey from nurturing young performers at Stagecoach to appearing in this extraordinary, award-winning production perfectly demonstrates where creativity, dedication and passion can lead. It was incredibly special for her students to see their teacher performing on one of Australia’s leading stages, and we hope it inspires the next generation of performers to pursue their own dreams.”
