LONDON THEATRE DIRECT TAKES PRIDE IN NEW CAMPAIGN

This year, London Theatre Direct celebrates Pride Month by creating a bespoke piece of content featuring some of the leading shows of the West End!

Speaking to cast members from Cabaret, The Devil Wears Prada, Titanique, Kinky Boots and more, we hear how these actors celebrate Pride, the relationship between the queer community and theatre, and the ways in which we can continue celebrating and representing LGBTQ+ people and their allies, both on and off-stage.

In light of Pride celebrations around the country facing funding cuts and lessening sponsorships, it is becoming increasingly more important to uplift and celebrate the queer community and its allies. As we all know, there has been a long-standing and deep-routed connection between LGBTQIA people and theatre/performance art, which is why London Theatre Direct is choosing to produce this content ready for Pride Month this year and the safe space that theatre provides for actors and audiences alike.

The piece will be hosted by drag queen and star of the London cabaret scene, Yshee Black, who has previously worked on C4’s Late Night Lycett with Joe Lycett, hosted interviews for the BBC, performed in the West End and worked on-stage internationally for 10+ years.

Created by Ollie Tunmore and Glen Facey of London Theatre Direct/Trafalgar Ticketing, they commented: “We’re delighted to be working on this fabulous piece of content with the support of TTX and Trafalgar Entertainment. We have access to some of the leading shows from within the West End and consequently, some of the best talent the industry has to offer, so why not utilise it for this important topic?

“We’ve been met with such warmth and enthusiasm from shows to be involved in this feature, which is equally heart-warming as it is a testimony to how well our teams’ work is received by these world-renowned shows and agencies. It is far from a sales campaign or cash-grab, sitting outside of any campaigns and is instead focused on educating, enlightening and entertaining those who watch it, to feel represented and engaged with these shows and London Theatre Direct during Pride Month 2026. We can’t wait for you all to see it!.
