Welcome to the May 2026 edition of Ensemble. 

There’s a real buzz of excitement in the air as High Society finally opened at the Barbican this week – a huge moment for everyone involved.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the sensational cast performance on The One Show, which gave a brilliant taste of what audiences can expect.

And huge congratulations to the company of The Rocky Horror Show on its incredible achievement of securing nine Tony Award nominations – a fantastic recognition of the talent, creativity and dedication behind the production.

We’re also delighted to share that Trafalgar Releasing will be bringing GIANT, starring John Lithgow, to cinemas later this year – an exciting addition that we’re sure will capture audiences’ imagination far and wide.

Happy 21st birthday to Imagine Theatre – a wonderful milestone and a testament to years of outstanding work and storytelling. Congratulations to Sarah and Steve Boden and all the Imagine Team. 

In this issue, we also have an exclusive conversation with New Theatre Cardiff’s Theatre Director, Stephan Stockton, who shares insight into the exciting announcement that Michael Sheen’s company Welsh National Theatre will premiere their production of Amadeus at the venue next year.
