SOUTHEND GUITAR HEROES FOR CASH
Southend-on-Sea is well known for its music, producing a long line of talented singer songwriters and instrumentalists. The Cliffs Pavilion itself boasts a number of musicians among its staff, so when the call went out to play some Johnny Cash tunes to promote Trafalgar’s newest musical The Ballad of Johnny & June, there was no shortage of takers.
Stepping up to the mic were Logan Hendy and John Edwards. These two musicians are big fans of Johnny Cash and were keen to deliver their own take on some of his classic songs.
Logan is a Front of House casual and John is the step-father of a member of the Box Office.
Logan chose to play Hurt which Cash covered in 2002 just a year before his death, and John sang The Eagles Desperado which Johnny covered on the last album released in his lifetime.
Logan is a Performing Arts student at South Essex College, hoping to make a career in entertainment, and John is a former professional musician and NHS physiotherapist who used music to help stroke patients in their recovery.

The Ballad of Johnny & June stars Christopher Ryan Grant who brings his acclaimed performance as Johnny Cash, direct from sell out seasons in the US and Canada, alongside two-time Drama Desk Award nominee, Christina Bianco as June Carter Cash.
This acclaimed hit new musical is now touring the UK & Ireland and shows why Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash remain one of the most iconic couples in music history, packed with a soundtrack of beloved hits — I Walk the Line, Ring of Fire, Hey Porter, Jackson, I’ve Been Everywhere, Wildwood Flower and many more.
