EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: BEN QUASHIE

Where do you work and what do you do?
I’m the Assistant Producer for Trafalgar Theatre Productions and right at the time of writing, I do a bit of everything – very much learning the organisation whilst supporting the Executive Producers and General Management team.

Describe yourself in 3 words!
Undisputed Tallest Producer.

What is your earliest Christmas memory?
I would have been in my pre-teens – It’s the last Christmas I can remember the large portion of my extended family coming around: parents, siblings, Nan, grandma, both uncles, maternal great grandparents. Never had such a busy Christmas again but I kind of miss it.

Favourite stage production and why?
It’s a bit rouge now but Blackta by Nathaniel Martello White at the Young Vic (2012). It was the first bit of theatre I saw that was allowed to be silly, and where I saw myself (at the time) reflected.

Top 3 favourite Christmas songs?

Last Christmas – Wham
Let It Snow! – Frank Sinatra
Somewhere Only We Know – Lily Allen

Top 3 Christmas films of all time?
The Muppets Christmas Carol
The Grinch

The Snowman (1982)

How will you be spending Christmas Day this year?
I conveniently live a 10 min walk away from my parent’s house so I’ll wake up in my own bed, get ready in my own time then head around to theirs. Our usual agenda is: presents, lunch, boardgames, dinner, drinks and TV Xmas specials, then bed. The main thing is that I’m happy that I won’t be doing the Christmas Day run that I was subjected to last year!

What’s your Christmas cooking masterpiece?
Baking is my hobby and I’m about to try and sus out the right ratio of ingredients for a Apple, Rhubarb and Blackberry Crumble.

Your Greatest sporting achievement?
December 19th 2024 – scored four goals in one 5-a-side game. Turns out I injured my PCL in this game, played through it and still have the injury today… rehab never made it into my routine properly.

Who is your hero and why?
Donald Glover – He’s always allowed his creativity to shine through and when people attempt to put him in a box, creatively, socially, or personally, he sees it as a challenge to push himself to grow, defy and often exceed those expectations.

Any New Year’s resolutions?
I tend to do new years resolutions on my birthday, my personal new year. My one for this year was try something new once a week – it can be a small as getting something different for lunch. I’ve definitely lost track of it in the past couple months but I think I’m staying true to it!

Holiday plans for 2026?
I’m hoping to go to St. Vincent at some point in the year! It’s where part of my family are from and I’ve never been (so it’s also very dependent of my family getting their stuff together). Either that or watching some Crystal Palace European away fixtures this season!
