TEAM TRAFALGAR RETURNS TO THEATRE CRAFT

Colleagues from our Theatres, Education, and Panto divisions joined forces at London’s Royal Opera House this month for Theatre Craft 2025, the UK’s largest free offstage theatre careers event for people aged 16-30.

Trafalgar once again hosted an exhibitor stand at the event (complete with La Voix’s panto costume from last year – thanks Imagine! And some tasty bakes from our star baker, Jamie Leadbeatter!), and staff chatted to attendees about life at Trafalgar and opportunities within the company.

Trafalgar Theatre also facilitated two workshops at the venue on the day, led by Venue Assistant, Andy Grace Hayes. A Heritage Tour promised to uncover hidden treasures on a tour of the Art Deco venue with rare material drawn from the archives, explore 100 years of West End magic.

In the Archiving Workshop, Theatre Craft attendees were joined by the venue’s Theatre Archivist to learn more about our collection and how objects are catalogued and stored at Trafalgar Theatre. Using objects from the archive, the group created their own mock archive, working together to decide which objects to preserve, and which attributes to record.

And Trafalgar Education hosted its own Q&A Panel – “Behind the Curtain: Theatre & Business Careers”

Attendees were invited to discover how a passion for the performing arts can grow into a thriving business or career.

They were joined by Trafalgar Education leaders from Stagecoach, Drama Kids, Creative Learning, and Trafalgar Theatres who shared insights into entrepreneurship, starting a franchise, business management, teaching opportunities, and even tech roles within theatres.

There was also practical advice and inspiration for starting your own business or shaping the next generation of performers.

A special episode of the Trafalgar Education Performing in Life Podcast was also recorded at the event.

Dave Bradbury, PR & Comms Manager for Trafalgar Entertainment and Trafalgar Theatres, said: “Theatre Craft 2025 totally eclipsed last year’s event, so a huge thank you to everyone who took part. It was great to see the Trafalgar team out in force, working together and representing the company in a room full of industry peers. We had good engagement, a constant flow of people to the stand, wide-ranging enquiries, and a strong brand presence.”
