IN THE WINGS LAUNCHES AT TRAFALGAR THEATRE
Trafalgar Theatre was delighted to host the launch of original docu-series In The Wings last week.
The series, from Theatre Channel and sponsored by Trafalgar Entertainment, is a heartfelt celebration of the extraordinary individuals whose work brings theatre to life from behind the scenes. Produced by theatre critic and influencer Mickey Jo Boucher, In The Wings is available to stream worldwide now, for free, exclusively on Theatre Channel.
Chris McGuigan, Commercial Director for Trafalgar Entertainment said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the In the Wings series from Theatre Channel. We love the fresh approach and uniqueness of the series, as it gives our industry’s unsung heroes a much-deserved moment in the spotlight.
“We have one of the best creative industries in the world, with some of the most talented, passionate, and dedicated people both on and off the stage. In the Wings is a huge celebration of those people and will help to promote the kind of career opportunities available within the industry whilst hopefully inspiring a whole new generation of theatre makers.”
EMMA’S MIGHTY MARATHON HIKE

Emma Goodridge, Marketing Manager at Imagine Theatre, completed the Jurassic Coast Mighty Half Marathon Hike on 5 July and raised over £1,000 smashing her target. Her chosen charity was Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to her heart as her father is living with Leukaemia and she sadly lost a friend earlier this year to cancer.
Having been plagued with knee problems she wasn’t sure if she would manage it, but she did, and took over 33,000 steps over 14 miles up and down some mega hills and completed it in just under six hours.
Emma said: “It was so humbling to see so many people there all taking up the challenge with their own stories, and with such varying abilities. It wasn’t an easy hike by any means and you could see how much it meant to each and every person to be on the adventure.”
Team Imagine would just like to say a huge WELL DONE EM!

SCENE BY THE SEA

Last month, the Palace Theatre Southend saw a gathering of many famous local bands and musicians as they came together for the very first time for a photo session. It was inspired by The Scene By The Sea exhibition at the Beecroft Gallery in Southend, which maps the vibrant musical venues past and present across Southend, Canvey and Leigh and to celebrate the City’s long-standing music heritage.
So many bands and artists from the Southend area have gone on to be known nationally and even internationally, so it was felt it was time to document this by gathering as many of them as possible for the first time for a one-off historic portrait by photographer Carl Allen of Big Wave PR. More than 60 legends gathered at the iconic Palace Theatre to capture the moment.
Southend Theatres: The Palace Theatre & The Cliffs Pavilion have always played a leading role in the city’s music scene with iconic acts such as Jimi Hendrix in 1967, Paul McCartney in 1991 and Oasis in 1995 playing the Cliffs, and Kula Shaker in 2016 and Gary Barlow in 2022 appearing at the Palace Theatre.
Some of those present included artists and members of Dr Feelgood, Eddie & The Hot Rods, The Damned, Depeche Mode, The Horrors, Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly, Johnny Hates Jazz; Kelly Ann Buckley, The Cure, UB40, and legendary photographer, Dean Chalkley.
Oliver Stacey, General Manager of Southend Theatres, said: “It was a pleasure to host this gathering of bands and musicians at the Palace and to mark both the exhibition and the part played by Southend Theatres in bringing brilliant music to the city, now and over the decades.“
KAY’S RACE FOR LIFE

Dartford VME, Kay Hadley, ran her first 10k run non-stop on 6 July at the Race For Life, Mote Park, Maidstone. Kay said: “Along with my friend Bonnie we raised £370 for Cancer Research UK. It was hot and hilly, but I’m proud I could complete the full 10k, even with a bad foot!”

The Wycombe Swan held a Groups Cultivation event this week, to coincide with the thrilling opening night of Bat out of Hell. The Wycombe team welcomed group leaders and their guests, shared feedback, and explored some exciting upcoming highlights and hospitality events, and guests were treated to drinks and tasty nibbles.
Sophie Miller: “I thought it was a fantastic production and enjoyed it very much. I’m very grateful for the kind invite. Being a group booker can at times be a bit challenging getting everyone organised, so I really appreciated the kind gesture.”
Trevor Gent: “It was a great evening with lovely hospitality too. I thought the production and staging was fantastic and on a par with the original.”
