Dear All,

Welcome to the July 2025 edition of Ensemble. With the summer holiday season upon us, I hope you’re taking the opportunity to get away for a well earned break. 

In our regional venues, summer can only mean one thing… the return of the annual Summer Youth Projects. This year, SYP is back bigger and better than ever before. The aim of the initiative has always been to provide young people with the unparalleled experience of working in a professional theatre environment, alongside industry creatives.

Several SYP participants have gone on to gain scholarships with prominent theatrical schools, and many alumni have achieved successful careers in all aspects of the industry. SYP is a real venue team effort, and I know everyone works incredibly hard to make the programme a success, so a huge thanks to you all. We wish you very the best of luck with this year’s productions. And if you have some free time over the summer, I urge you to go along and experience one of the SYP shows for yourself. 

Summer 2025 is also a busy period for our Production teams and Trafalgar Releasing. With another successful season at the Barbican, pantomime auditions, and a slate of exciting high profile cinema events, there’s certainly a lot going on! 

Finally, some of our venues have been getting back to nature with some very welcome wildlife visitors. You can read more about all these stories in this edition of Ensemble.
