TE NEWS: READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Michelle Breen and Jess McCrorie attended ITB Berlin 4-6 March, the world’s largest tourism fair. They were there to exhibit Trafalgar Tickets on the Visit Britain stand. They were just 1 of 30 stand holders present, to represent the very best of Britain to the world’s travel trade. In total there was over 5,800 exhibitors!

Michelle and Jess met with global wholesalers, tour operators and travel agents that bring tourists to Britain and are looking for content to include in their packages and itineraries. Germany is the UK’s third largest source market by visit volume and second most valuable by visitor spending, only topped by the US. However, with over 100,000 attendees over the 3 days, they didn’t just meet with the German travel trade as 87% attendance was international!

Imagine Theatre Move Update

January and February were exceptionally busy months for the Imagine team who have been working hard on the move over to their new premises.

A team of freelancers have been working alongside the team on electrics, fitting racking, creating additional office spaces, as well as helping move the contents of the old warehouse and external storage spaces to the new unit.

The majority of sets, costumes and props have now been transferred over to their new home and work is ongoing to organise everything into its rightful place. Imagine will share more behind the scenes pics over the coming weeks as the new premises takes shape!

Rosemary announced as Keynote Speaker

Rosemary has been announced as the second keynote speaker at The Stage’s Future of Theatre Conference this April. She joins fellow headline speaker Indhu Rubasingham, whose words will coincide with her official springtime commencement at the National Theatre.

Rosemary said: “I’m delighted to be speaking at The Stage’s Future of Theatre Conference this year. It’s always good to come together with industry friends and share in our collective cultural experiences, especially during such challenging times. I hope the perspective of my decades of experience in the industry can add some value to the day.

“We must continually remind the Government of the value of what we all do and what great value British theatre is – in terms of employment, our contribution to the economy, our general well-being, and by providing a sense of community and belonging to millions of people across the UK.

“And our industry has survived the odds. We’re resilient, steadfast, and adaptable to change and when faced with challenges and times of uncertainty, we come back stronger. We really punch above our weight, and we should all be proud of that. It’s something our country does phenomenally well.”

Matt Hemley, The Stage’s Deputy Editor, said: “Hot on the heels of announcing Indhu Rubasingham as one of our keynotes at this year’s Future of Theatre conference, we are delighted to share that Trafalgar Entertainment’s Rosemary Squire will also be a headline speaker.

“To have two of theatre’s most powerful figures bookending our event promises to make it an unmissable conference. Rosemary will share her wisdom from years of working in the sector and founding two of the most powerful companies in the industry – Ambassador Theatre Group and Trafalgar Entertainment. We can’t wait to welcome her.”
